Clean boost (flat eq) pedal
Flat tone. Control volume from 0 to +/-18db gain. Front-end buffer will drive long cables and through multiple pedals. The intent was to design a clean gain pedal for those who want to boost the guitar volume for fills and leads without adding "distortion" or altering the sonic signature of the original, boosted signal - and to not become sterile (as boost pedals are wont to do).
This pedal was designed to have very low noise and distortion. It has a small footprint that will take up little space on a pedal board. The foot switch, like all of our pedals, is as close to the bottom as possible for easy access. The volume control has a large, single "volume" knob and is not overly sensitive allowing for smooth tracking and ease of adjustments.
Controls:
Volume: Large knob to easily control volume (center is unity gain)
Fundamentals:
True Bypass (mechanical 3pdt switch)
9v(DC): Battery or 2.1 Center Negative DC (industry standard) barrel plug
Enclosure: Die-cast Aluminum
Size (small foot print): 4.39" x 2.38" x 1.22"
Knob: Plastic (large to easily see on stage and adjust with foot)
LED: Indicates when pedal is engaged and is easily viewed (i.e., not blocked by foot) for immediate confirmation
Sound Demos:
All demos played through a standard Strat (USA) with L. Fralin Pickups through a 65RI Twin Reverb at around 3 with reverb also set 3ish. A buffer was used before the Volume Commander. This was necessary for comparing the bypassed signal to the Volume Commander so that the bypassed signal was also buffered (Volume Commander is also a buffer).

The first recording demonstrates the tonal neutrality of Volume Commander. While strumming chords the Volume Commander is engaged and bypassed throughout the recording. Volume Commander is set at unity. Notice you cannot tell the difference between engaged and bypassed. The lead playing is with the mic at the same setting as the chords with Volume Commander at 3/4s of full volume (more would have clipped the signal). This is one way the pedal would be used live engaging Volume Commander for leads.
Some single note playing with Volume Commander engaged and bypassed. Volume Commander is set at 2 o'clock. That's about the right amount of gain for leads in a band setting.
