The Model 828 is for speed and precision without compromise. The 828-N is made from filled nylon that is superior to standard nylon picks providing strength, wear resistance, and a very low co-efficient of friction (bearing grade). Thickness: 1.5mm*. Color: grey black. Price is for one guitar pick.
Our latest design. The Model 828 brings a new shape and a modest size that fits perfectly in your hand. Roughly the same size as our premier Vectrum design, the 828 is bigger than a "jazz" pick and smaller than a standard pick. Like our other picks, it is hand beveled and polished. This shape fits nicely between thumb and finger giving mass in all the right places.
Looking for speed without sacrificing precision, the 828 design has a broad tip that sweeps into a fine point. The end result is a perfectly balanced guitar pick that will not hang you up in a six string jungle while playing virtuoso fast. The 828 offers that seamless connection that every guitarist dreams about.

The Material
The Model 828-N is made from a filled nylon material. The "filled" means an additive material was added to the nylon to increase strength and reduce friction. This is not your standard "nylon guitar" pick. This material looks great, has a nice glossy shine and great gripping texture (pick is also engraved on one-side to further support gripping). It is a high strength material that wears extremely well and has a very low co-efficient of friction. In other words, it is very slippery over the strings while sticky to the fingers and long lasting.
The Sound
A very balanced sound with excellent definition and punch. The 828-N provides more volume and even distribution across the strings preventing any washed out notes. (In testing was as loud as acrylic picks.)
Final Thoughts
As a player, this is my favorite design and material. It really delivers. I actually had the material lying around for several months now while exploring so many other materials. I gave it a try. I was blown away. Years ago I abandoned nylon picks (the ol' Jazz 3) for acrylic. I left acrylic for Delrin (all in the jazz pick size range). Finally, I left all of those for this slightly larger (than a "jazz" pick) design made from filled nylon that is truly superb. I think of it as all the positives from nylon, Delrin, and acrylic while vastly reducing the negatives. And, the coup de grace - I can consistently play those high speed scale runs that eluded me for decades. I couldn't be happier with the 828 design and this material.
*Actual thickness of the guitar pick will vary due to inconsistencies in the source material that is normal with any plastic sheet. Typical variance is within 0.05mm - 0.1mm.
